We love "
" Editorial Design

Despite increasing digitalization, we still use print media every day. Brochures, journals, magazines, and books are simply an integral part of our daily lives. The design of these media is collectively referred to as “editorial design.”

What does editorial design involve?

Good editorial design always takes place within an editorial context. As part of an editorial team consisting of writers, photographers, and illustrators, editorial designers work to create the right visual style for each piece of content, ultimately giving the entire publication a cohesive look.

What do our designers do?

Editorial design refers, on the one hand, to the layout of print media—that is, typesetting, layout grids, image placement, and adherence to corporate design guidelines—but, on the other hand, it is also essential to always keep the overall impression of the medium’s content in mind. In good editorial design, whether the content is promotional, journalistic, or literary, it must be presented in a way that is interesting and easy for the reader to understand.

How do we create high-quality print products?

BECKDESIGN is your partner in bringing a project to life for and with your company—from the initial briefing to the final product. We handle conceptual, technical, and editorial development—from product brochures to customer magazines, from employee newsletters to pregnancy journals. We’re also happy to create cross-media content for digital publication.

Whether you’re a startup or an established company, and whether you’re in the service, retail, or manufacturing industries, we serve our clients from our office in Bochum—in the Ruhr region, in Dortmund, Essen, and Düsseldorf, as well as across the state, throughout Germany, and worldwide.

What makes us different?

We bring together all the disciplines of good design under one roof. Graphic design, illustration, photography, and copywriting work side by side in our creative team. This keeps communication channels truly short, and cross-media work isn’t just a buzzword for us—it’s an integral part of our company culture. We’d also be happy to collaborate with your editorial team on your next publication.

How much does professional editorial design cost?

Your project is as unique as its target audience. Is it a product or image brochure, a company newsletter, a customer magazine, or perhaps a book? After an initial briefing, we’ll assess your needs to develop a customized editorial design solution. This is completely non-binding, and we’ll then provide a cost estimate or a detailed quote.
